A Winning Weekend:

swamp scramble 2

Whew, what a weekend! My weekend started a bit early as Dad and I headed to Gainesville to play with two of our great friends in the Inaugural Swamp Scramble at the Mark Bostick golf course at the University of Florida. The tournament, even though it was the first one, was very professionally run and I was truly impressed! It was a beautiful day, the course was in amazing shape (especially considering what kind of winter we have had and how much play that course gets) and our team played really well. It's great to play in an event like that and have all the pieces come together with each member of the team making their own contribution to help the team. We shot: 28-28 - 56 and ended up tying another team but won on the third match of cards. They initially matched our back 9 score which we tied, then matched the front 9 score which we also tied, and then matched the scores on 16, 17, and 18. Our team birdied all 3 holes and the other team only birdied 2 of the 3. Just goes to show how important each shot can be! Thanks to the UF Department of Tourism, Recreation, and Sport Management for such a great day!

Also a special thanks to Michele Dye for taking the photos that day. While shooting different UF events I have gotten to know Michele and actually heard about the golf tournament from her. When I saw her at the event with her camera I was very happy because I knew we'd have some great shots to share. Thank you Michele for letting me share a few more here. If you would like to see more of her work be sure to check her out!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you had a great weekend and a smooth Monday! See you tomorrow!
