Monday night I had a ball and I mean that figuratively and literally! Admittedly we have not been the best at taking maternity photos to document the progression and changes in Britt's body as we move further into her pregnancy. I blame myself for most of that because I am really not that great of a portrait photographer, I am still learning to work with multiple off camera flashes, and I'm really not that hot on the genre of maternity photography in general. With that said however, a lot of that changes when it is your wife, and your baby on the way but even then I can't make myself a better photographer. Finally it hit both of us that time is running out for maternity shots and it occurred to me that if she's willing to be in front of the camera (which she normally NEVER is) then I need to be willing to come out of my comfort zone of landscapes, wildlife and sports and take some portraits.
We both really went into it with the right mindset and really had fun with the whole shoot. Some of the outtakes are so funny that I may share some with you all once I finish editing the set of keepers. All in all I had a great time and our relaxed and happy mood really set the tone for a great night. It's hard not to be happy with all that we have to look forward to!
